The Ultimate Basic Cosplay List
Have you ever noticed that when you’re cosplaying, some of the same clothing pieces pop up in outfit after outfit after outfit? Or some of the same designs? Please let the fact that I am ancient in the ways of cosplay help you! I’ve put together a list of clothing pieces, shoes, patterns, wigs, and accessories that you can use as the basis for literally hundreds of easy costumes from series both old-school and modern, as well as a list of basic makeup that anybody who is cosplaying with photos being taken should have and things you should specifically watch out for when looking for patterns to modify. If you’re wondering where to get started… start here! I hope some of you may find this useful. If you’ve got questions, ask me! With just the closet clothing and patterns listed, and a bit of google for when you run into other things, you can make literally hundreds of characters’ clothing with relative ease!
Please note: When I specify gender I am referring to the character’s apparent gender (or the typical assigned gender of that type of clothing), not your gender.
